As our workshop operation continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Automotive Parts & Quotation Advisor to support our busy technical and front-of-house teams.
The Role
This is a key operational position at the centre of our workshop.
You will be the main point of contact for parts required across booked workshop jobs and will work closely with our technicians and front-of-house service advisors to ensure work is accurately priced, authorised and completed without unnecessary delay.
You will create accurate quotations for MOT failures, vehicle health-check findings and additional work identified by our technicians. Once work has been authorised, you will source and order the correct parts, monitor deliveries and help ensure everything is available when required.
Your automotive knowledge, organisation and ability to communicate clearly will help maintain an efficient workshop workflow and provide our customers with a professional, well-informed service.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for workshop parts requirements
- Ensure parts are identified and ordered in advance for booked jobs
- Produce accurate quotations for MOT failure repairs
- Prepare quotations for work identified during vehicle health checks
- Price additional repair and maintenance opportunities identified by technicians
- Source the correct parts quickly and competitively from approved suppliers
- Order parts promptly once customer authorisation has been received
- Liaise closely with technicians, service advisors and the workshop manager
- Provide front-of-house advisors with accurate parts and technical pricing information
- Monitor outstanding orders and resolve supply issues
- Manage supplier communications, credits and parts returns
- Process parts and repair warranty claims accurately
- Assist with quotations for motorhome and caravan servicing and repair work
- Maintain accurate records within the company’s workshop and management systems
About You
This position would suit an experienced automotive parts professional who enjoys being at the heart of a busy workshop operation.
You will:
- Have extensive automotive parts knowledge
- Have previous experience within the motor trade
- Understand how to identify and source parts accurately
- Be confident preparing detailed repair quotations
- Be highly organised and able to manage several priorities at once
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and suppliers
- Have strong attention to detail
- Remain calm and productive in a fast-paced environment
- Take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
- Understand the importance of keeping technicians productive and customers informed
Ideal Experience
Applicants may have worked within:
- An automotive parts department
- A franchised dealership
- An independent garage or service centre
- A motor factor or trade-parts environment
- An automotive service-advisor or workshop-support role
Previous motor-trade experience is essential.
Experience with workshop-management, parts-catalogue or dealer-management systems would be advantageous.
