Job Summary
We are seeking a junior or trainee Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will either have existing experience in a commercial kitchen, or be training to become a chef at College. You will be responsible for cooking and meal preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety and quality. Must be able to work as part of a team in a growing, fast paced friendly environment. Willing to learn and grow, bring new ideas and skills to increase productivity and have a passion for food.
Duties
- Prepare and cook hot and cold meals, sandwiches, pastries etc.
- Ensure all food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff and work as part of a team to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Kitchen open and close duties.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef/Cook/Sandwich Artist in a commercial catering setting, or actively studying Catering.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and meal presentation.
- Familiarity and experience with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
- A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
- Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but can be current.
- Flexibility in working pattern to ensure consistent business operation. This will include weekend working.
- Easy commute to Betchworth, Surrey.
