New Formation Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming specialist SEN school in Lambeth, supporting pupils across primary and secondary with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism (ASC) and associated learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school where you'll work alongside experienced teachers, Speech and Language Therapists and SEN professionals, helping children develop the communication, confidence and independence they need to thrive.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with SLCN, Autism and associated additional needs.
- Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups across primary and secondary classes.
- Help pupils develop communication, language and social interaction skills.
- Use structured communication strategies such as visual supports, PECS, Makaton or similar approaches where appropriate.
- Encourage emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers, Speech and Language Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Create a calm, supportive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SLCN, Autism or additional learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
