We are looking for an experienced and capable Commis/KP (or KP to Rising Commis) to work with our lovely, talented small kitchen team in our independent pub - The New Inn, a busy and genuinely independent pub and coaching inn, in the heart of the thriving village community that is West Coker in South Somerset.
Immediate starts possible and we are responsive employers.
You will be working with a a team of 2 regular staff and a great Head Chef and will be involved in all aspects of food preparation and all usual duties according to your level. Everyone gets on very well and there is nice atmosphere between Front and Kitchen.
The current menu offerings are Monday to Saturday 12 to 8.30pm and Sunday Lunches 12 to 4.30pm with a relatively new breakfast service being introduced as we have 4 coaching inn/hotel rooms (2 more being refurbished).
There is the possibility of accommodation (one studio maisonette accommodation a mile from The Inn), subject to separate arrangements of course and depending on the contract.
PAY
We expect the role to be performed over 5 to 6 days/between 35 to 45 hours per week. Part-time days and times are negotiable. Overtime is paid at the same rate. Staff are paid weekly, as 'week-in-hand'.
**The pay range advertised above is accurate-aggregate maximum and based on experience, suitability and level** Part-time roles would be pro-rata. Freelancers/temps are also welcome to apply.

A solid background and experience at in a similar restaurant/food pub service environment.
Efficient food preparation, supporting the chef(s) in/for a busy service
Ability to take direction and execute day-to-day commis and KP kitchen duties
Passion and pride for good food
Good sense of 'home economics', kitchen efficiencies and waste
Good communication skills
Able to perform to targets and time deadlines (particularly for a busy service!)
