Neighbourhood is an independent, community-focused coffee house built around great coffee, fresh food and warm, welcoming service. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who shares our passion for quality, consistency and creating a great customer experience.
The Role
This is a varied, hands on position where you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and customer service while helping keep the café running smoothly. As we expand this could be at 1 of our 3 location in and around the Preston area.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing consistently high-quality coffees, including milk texturing and latte art.
- Delivering friendly, professional customer service.
- Preparing and serving a selection of fresh takeaway food items.
- Carrying out food preparation to specification while maintaining excellent food hygiene standards.
- Working efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail.
- Managing stock, cleanliness and organisation throughout the day.
- Opening and closing the café when required.
- Maintaining high environmental health and food safety standards.
- Working confidently both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
We're Looking For
- Previous barista experience is essential.
- Experience within a café or hospitality environment.
- Experience preparing fresh food and light takeaway menu items.
- Ability to work autonomously and use your initiative.
- Calm, organised and efficient under pressure.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- High standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to support the wider team.
- Passion for great coffee and continuous learning.
