Post No. PE098.1 - Anti-social Behaviour Officer
Newport City Council (NCC) are committed to working in partnership to develop and progress Newport’s Community Safety Plans.
The role requires an active and at times lead role, in the development and delivery of an operational approach to resolving cases of Anti-social behaviour (ASB), liaising closely with the Community Safety Enforcement Officers (CSEO) and other partners both internal and external to the council.
The role also involves ensuring the appropriate procedures are followed and targeted towards effective action. There will be a requirement to gather evidence from agencies and prepare case files for legal/court process in relation to ASB matters.

Being part of a friendly, hardworking and supportive team, you will undertake a range of duties including:
Contribute to the development of community safety/Newport Public Service Board plans, particularly in dealing with Anti-social behaviour.- Develop and co-ordinate multi-agency plans to tackle ASB, including liaison with the Police, Youth Offending Teams and other partner agencies.
- Co-ordinate and on occasions chair joint multi-agency meetings to develop, discuss and review ASB action plans, aiming to improve their effectiveness in tackling problematic ASB areas or individuals.
- Issue letters of warning, fixed penalty notices/community protection notices in appropriate cases.
- To keep up to date with ASB legislation, preparing guidance notes for colleagues and other agencies.
You will be educated to A level standard and demonstrate a good understanding of relevant community safety legislation.
Experience of working with the public and liaising with a cross section of both internal and external stakeholders including the use of conflict management.
