Duties
- Develop and implement system architecture solutions for automation and integration projects using technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, VMware, and Azure.
- Design and manage system infrastructure including operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX), network configurations (VPN, DHCP, DNS), and security protocols (firewalls, information security).
- Build and maintain scalable web services and APIs utilizing REST, SOAP, microservices architecture, and service-oriented architecture principles.
- Automate deployment pipelines through continuous integration tools like Jenkins and Git, ensuring smooth SDLC processes.
- Manage databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases including Cassandra or MongoDB; optimise data storage solutions with load balancing techniques.
- Implement system security measures including VPNs, firewalls, and access controls to safeguard organisational data.

Experience
- Proven experience in systems engineering or IT roles specialising in system design and integration within enterprise environments.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, load balancing strategies, and firewall management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; familiarity with cloud-native services is highly desirable.
- Strong background in database management systems (SQL Server, MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle) along with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby on Rails; shell scripting (Bash/Unix shell) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker), orchestration tools (Kubernetes), virtualization (VMware ESXi), and service mesh architectures.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; experience with version control systems such as Git is essential.
- Understanding of information security principles relevant to system architecture; experience implementing security protocols is preferred.
