About The Cookie Bar
The Cookie Bar is a welcoming social enterprise café run by Pathways Community Trust, a charity supporting young people with additional needs and those at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training).
Our café provides a real working environment where young people can develop practical hospitality, employability and life skills alongside our experienced team. Every coffee poured and cookie sold helps support the wider work of the charity.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Weekend Café Supervisor to take responsibility for running the café during our weekend opening.
The Role
This is a hands-on position for someone who is confident taking responsibility for a café shift while still being happy to get stuck in with everything from making great coffee to preparing breakfast and serving customers.
You will help ensure The Cookie Bar is welcoming, well organised and provides consistently excellent food, drinks and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the café during weekend shifts.
- Lead and support the weekend team and allocate tasks effectively.
- Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service.
- Prepare and serve our breakfast and lunch menu, cookies, cakes and other café products.
- Prepare barista-style coffees and other hot and cold drinks.
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensure food hygiene, allergen, health & safety and cleaning procedures are followed.
- Operate the till/EPOS system and handle cash and card payments.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Deal confidently and professionally with customer enquiries or concerns.
- Help create the relaxed, friendly and inclusive atmosphere that makes The Cookie Bar special.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within a café, restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Confidence taking responsibility for running a shift.
- Good food preparation and kitchen skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A good understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices.
- Reliable, organised and able to use initiative.
- Able to remain calm and positive during busy periods.
- Available to work regular weekends.
Desirable:
- Barista experience.
- Food Hygiene qualification.
- Experience preparing breakfast or brunch dishes.
- Experience using an EPOS/till system.
- An interest in social enterprise and supporting opportunities for young people.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
