Health & Safety
- Have good working relationship with the clients H&S team
- Maintain all H&S procedures ensuring that the latest versions are provided on Integrated Project Team Area North (IPTAN) way which is a H&S Management system
- Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with BBV standards to identify and share lessons learned.
- Review lessons learned from internal and external incident investigations and revise/update procedures, guidance and forms as required
- Communicate changes and new requirements to management, supervisors and the workforce and support the embedment of these changes as necessary.
- Undertake Health and Safety compliance evaluations, inspections, and audits at prescribed intervals. Record outputs and liaise with site management to ensure actions are completed.
- Lead H&S and support the sublot teams.
- Promote a positive safety culture through proactive engagement and communications with project teams, including the supply chain
- Prepare lessons learned and recommendations from incidents & audits and attend best practice and knowledge sharing communities of practice within HS2.
- Lead, develop and coach employees to build high performing safety team
- As a center of excellence, you will be providing support as required to the project
- Provide knowledgeable and practical advice, support, and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to discharge their health and safety responsibilities in line with the BBV standards.
- Work with the training manager to develop and help deliver suitable safety training programmes for all project (including toolbox talks and topic specific presentations).
- Maintain records, minutes, registers, and data as required.
- Liaise with H&S colleagues within BBV by attending regular co-ordination meetings
- Participate in the regular reviews and updates of the Project Health & Safety Management System, including but not limited to the Construction Phase Plan, Plant and Vehicle Management Plan, Emergency Plan and others as deemed necessary for the project.
Essential Experience:
- Corporate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – CMIOSH Minimum.
- National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health Construction Certificate / Diploma
- Environmental qualifications (desirable)
