We are the Bridge Hotel in Buttermere, Cumbria– voted one of the most popular areas of the Lake District and indeed the UK, with amazing scenery and 360 degrees of views.
We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who is willing to muck in where needed, with a warm welcoming personality that leaves our customers wanting to return (as many of them do).
Can you maintain a professional and calm attitude while keeping an eye for detail? Are you a fun person with an outgoing personality, who enjoys working with people (well, most of them anyway)? Are you able to keep a cool head (even on hot days) and lead by example? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.
We are fortunate in having a very supportive network, and the owner is constantly improving the Hotel year on year with annual refurbishments and reinvestment into the business.
As Shift Supervisor you won’t get bored! You will have to be able to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks including Reception duties (we are lucky enough to have the best guests in the Lake District and you will be the first point of call for all enquiries and arrivals, so we do expect a good timekeeper and someone who can be bright eyed and bushy tailed even after a late night) and Front of House duties (our personalities are as great as the scenery that surrounds us, we enjoy a bit of banter, we like to laugh, work hard, play hard and we enjoy all that the Hospitality Industry has to offer).
The successful candidate will receive in house training (we will support you all the way) and we are hoping that you can demonstrate:
A great telephone manner.
Being able to use a computer well enough to write emails, input reservations and enter data – it’s ok, we don’t need a whizz kid on computer technology
Able to listen and communicate on all levels
Confident in handling cash control processes
Ability to work on own initiative and to think on your feet
Able to pour a proper pint (yes, a Northern pint with a nice head, not a flat looking warm pint you may find down South!).
A vehicle (or horse if that's your thing) to get in and out of work .
This is a full-time position, hours will be roughly 40 - 45 per week and the schedule will include days, nights, weekends and bank holidays and everything in between (if you are looking for a social life perhaps these hours wont suit!).
Live-in accommodation can be made available for this position.
