The Queens Hotel York is looking for a conscientious and professional candidate to supervise our 56 cover Restaurant and help guide our team of approx. 5 part time staff .
We are a 78 bedroom independent Hotel offering 3 star accommodation to leisure guests, corporate travellers, families and coach groups.
This position requires a friendly, hardworking, confident individual to take on the day to day challenges of guiding and training a youthful team along with ensuring a high standard of service is provided to our guests at all times.
Shifts include a mix of breakfast and dinner service with occasional group lunches. As part of the team you will be required to be hands on in preparing the restaurant for guests to dine. You will be responsible for leading the team during service, balancing the bills for guests and maintaining cleaning standards in the restaurant along with some food stock management and order placing. You will work alongside other full time team members to ensure our part time team are trained in all aspects of service.
We have a relatively small team offering food service 7 days a week to our guests, we work closely with the coach industry and provide our service 365 days a year
You will be required to work approx. 25-30 hours, 5 days over 7 including one split shift pw, weekends, and bank holidays.
You should be confident in dealing with any guest service issues in the absence of the Hotel Manager or other department managers as well as adaptable to step into other departments who may need cover during peak times such as Reception. We need someone who is flexible, organised and determined to offer a consistent level of good service to our guests whilst dealing with the day to day service. You should be able to communicate effectively with the Kitchen team to ensure smooth service for the guests and team members.
