Retail Assistant (Seasonal) – Face Painting Experience Preferred
About the role
We're looking for enthusiastic, friendly and proactive Retail Assistants to join our team for the upcoming season.
This customer-facing role combines excellent retail service with the opportunity to create memorable experiences for our younger visitors through face painting during busy periods, special events and peak trading days.
As part of our Visitor Experience team, you'll play an important role in ensuring every guest enjoys a fantastic day out.
Key Responsibilities
Retail
- Deliver outstanding customer service to all visitors
- Process transactions accurately using the till system
- Assist guests with product enquiries and purchases
- Replenish stock and maintain attractive displays
- Keep retail areas clean, organised and welcoming
- Support with deliveries and stock management
Face Painting
- Provide high-quality face painting for children and families
- Engage positively with visitors to create memorable experiences
- Maintain excellent hygiene and safety standards
- Manage queues professionally during busy periods
- Represent the zoo in a friendly and professional manner at all times
What we’re looking for
- A positive, approachable and friendly attitude
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Retail or customer-facing experience preferred
- Confidence interacting with children and families
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible and hardworking approach
- Willingness to work weekends, bank holidays and peak seasonal periods
Desirable
- Face painting experience
- Artistic and creative skills
- Previous retail, hospitality or visitor attraction experience
