We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care to our residents, demonstrating leadership and supervisory skills. Duties
- Deliver personalised care to residents in accordance with individual care plans, respecting their dignity and preferences
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high standards of care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as necessary
- Organise and participate in team meetings to ensure effective communication within the care team
- Support residents’ social activities and encourage participation to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and infection control procedures
- Contribute to the training and development of new staff members, sharing supervisory experience and leadership skills
Skills
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Strong communication skills to liaise with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while maintaining a caring approach
- Ability to work in a team with senior management
- Level 3 in care preferred but not essential
