Experienced Vehicle Technician – Level 3 or Higher
Location: Rayleigh, Essex Competitive salary, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm

Salary: Up to £42,000 per year, based on experience and skill level.
Cars Under 3000 is looking for an experienced and reliable Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop team in Rayleigh.
This is not a trainee or entry-level position. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or higher, and have recent experience working independently within a busy workshop environment.
We are a friendly, down-to-earth used car dealership and pride ourselves on preparing our vehicles properly before they reach our customers. We need someone who takes pride in their work, can confidently diagnose faults and completes repairs to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing and maintaining a wide range of makes and models
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out repairs to brakes, suspension, steering, clutches and timing belts
- Completing general maintenance and vehicle preparation work
- Identifying additional repairs or safety concerns
- Ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and road-ready
- Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Keeping the workshop and your working area clean and organised
What we are looking for:
- Level 3 City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair — essential
- At least two years’ recent experience working as a Vehicle Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- The ability to work confidently without constant supervision
- Your own tools
- A full UK driving licence
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- MOT Tester qualification would be an advantage, but is not essential
