Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Room Leader to oversee and organise early childhood education activities within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for nurturing young children’s development. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, implement educational programmes, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children. Applicants must have relevant childcare experience and hold appropriate qualifications in early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of nursery staff, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained at all times
- Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities that support children’s developmental milestones
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes learning, socialisation, and emotional well-being
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years’ frameworks
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children’s progress and daily activities
- Maintain accurate records of children’s development and attendance
- Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and training
- Manage daily operational tasks within the room to ensure smooth running of activities
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Experience working directly with children in a childcare environment or nursery setting
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively while maintaining a nurturing approach
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings or events
- A genuine passion for child development and creating enriching learning experiences
Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
