We are looking for passionate and experienced Residential Support Workers to join our dedicated team at our Ofsted Outstanding solo placement children's home in Letchworth Garden City.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic, child-centred environment where you can make a genuine difference by providing consistent, individualised support to one young person. As part of our committed team, you will play a vital role in helping a young person build confidence, resilience and the skills they need to achieve positive outcomes.
Please note: This role follows a 2 days on, 4 days off shift pattern, which includes a sleep-in.

Role Overview
As a Residential Support Worker, you will support one young person up to the age of 18, providing emotional and practical support while helping them develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
Working within a solo placement gives you the opportunity to build strong, trusting relationships and provide consistent, individualised care within a safe and supportive home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and practical support that promotes independence, resilience and personal development.
- Support the young person with daily living tasks including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, attending appointments and accessing education, training or employment.
- Build positive, professional relationships that encourage trust, stability and positive outcomes.
- Deliver key work sessions and contribute to care planning and placement reviews.
- Maintain accurate daily records, reports and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, health professionals and other partner agencies.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of the young person, following all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming home environment that meets safeguarding and health and safety standards.
- Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts, with additional hours available where required.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care or a related field is desirable (or willingness to work towards one).
Skills

Requirements
For this role, you will need:
- A full UK driving licence.
- Business use motor insurance for your vehicle (or willingness to obtain it before commencing employment).
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).
- Previous experience working in residential childcare or a similar care setting is desirable.
