Legal Secretary
We are a busy full-service law firm based in the heard of Newcastle city centre and we are currently expanding our Legal Secretarial team. Hay & Kilner provides a comprehensive service across an extensive range of practice areas, which covers all our client's legal requirements.
We are recruiting for an experienced Legal Secretary to work at our prestigious, Newcastle city centre office. This is a part time role (4x half days a week or 2x full days) within our Corporate team.
Prior experience of working within a secretarial role within a law firm is required.
Successful applicants will report to their relevant Head of Department and will be responsible for:
- Copy typing
- Ensuring documents are correctly filed, both electronically and hard copy
- Having direct contact with the firm’s clients
- Dealing with legal documents when required
- Copying and preparing mail and disclosures for dispatch
- Making appointments, arranging meetings and maintaining diaries
- Provision of excellent support and assistance to Lawyers
The following skills and experience are relevant:
- Good speed and accuracy when typing
- Knowledge of word processing systems
- Experience of working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Knowledge of legal terminology
