As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to motivate team members.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, complying with food safety standards at all times.
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage team dynamics effectively within a fast-paced setting.
- Previous experience working in restaurants or hospitality establishments is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
