House of Dreamers is a large-scale immersive exhibition opening at ExCeL London, combining art, technology and storytelling through a series of highly interactive environments.
Visitors will journey through visually spectacular spaces featuring multimedia installations, interactive experiences, lighting effects, soundscapes and immersive storytelling.
We are looking for a practical and technically minded professional to join our operations team and help ensure the exhibition runs smoothly every day.
About the Role
This role combines technical operations, AV support and practical maintenance within a large-scale immersive exhibition environment.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with multimedia systems and interactive installations, but who is equally willing to pick up tools, carry out repairs and help keep the exhibition operating at the highest standard every day.
You will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of a wide range of exhibition systems, including audio, video, lighting, interactive installations and visitor-facing technology.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful and proactive, with a practical approach to solving problems and maintaining complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily opening and shutdown of exhibition systems and installations
- Monitor and maintain AV, lighting, multimedia and interactive systems
- Troubleshoot technical issues during opening hours
- Support the operation of visitor-facing technology and interactive experiences
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks when required
- Repair, replace or restore damaged exhibition elements, props or equipment
- Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and technical diagnostics
- Coordinate with external suppliers and specialist contractors when necessary
- Ensure all technical areas remain safe, operational and presentation-ready
- Respond quickly and calmly to operational issues and unexpected faults
- Support exhibition updates, adjustments and technical improvements throughout the project
Requirements
- Experience in technical operations, maintenance, AV systems or similar environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working with computers, screens, projectors, audio systems and lighting equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and ability to work safely around electrical equipment
- Practical maintenance and repair skills
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and hands-on approach

Pay: £24,420.00-£39,000.00 per year
