Position : Trainee Warehouse Operative - Full Time – Permanent Contract after satisfactory completion of probationary period
A multi-tasking role, assisting more experienced members of staff to take delivery of stainless steel products, rotate stock, pick & pack orders, handle customer collections, load delivery vehicles & general duties as required by the business.
The role does include a lot of manual handling of material, so importance is placed on being physically fit, able to lift heavy items and be on your feet throughout the day.
A strong attention to detail good level of accuracy will be required when picking orders and completing company documentation. Material is counted in pieces, metres, and weight so an ability to perform simple calculations will be beneficial.
Ongoing general warehouse keeping will be essential to maintain a clean & tidy working environment.
Safety footwear will be required on day one, but PPE & uniform will be provided and should be worn.
Any previous warehouse experience is helpful but not essential as full on the job training will be provided.
Potential for machinery training for cutting and/or polishing.
Potential for forklift & scissor lift training.
Driving Licence favourable but not essential.
Hours :
Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. These are the business opening hours so you will be expected to arrive in time ready to start work at opening.
Overtime available around business needs.
Starting salary :
18-20 £ 10.85 per hour
21 + £12.71 per hour
