14 hours/week @ £13.79/hr
Location: in employer's home in Selby, some admin work can be done remotely
Days: 2 days a week; negotiable with routine preferred
Start date: as soon as possible
Subject to DBS check and proof of right to work in the UK
Driving licence preferred but not essential
Tasks:
- Meal planning and prepping
- Cleaning, tidying, and organising in the home
- Keeping on top of household tasks such as shopping and medication re-ordering
- Liaising with various organisations such as DWP, NHS, social services, council - helping with all life and medical admin
- Occasional accompanied visits for medical appointments
Person Spec:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisation skills
- Housekeeping experience preferred
Training:
There is no formal training for this role, however I will invite you to take some online modules on my conditions and their impacts and typical management during the first weeks of your role, and we will discuss together whether there is any other training or support that you feel will be beneficial (this will also depend on what you feel most and least confident in).
This will be the first time that I have any kind of support in my home, and so there will be a ‘settling-in’ period as we get to know each other and how we work together. Your questions and suggestions will always be welcome.
Employer:
I am a 43-year old woman with various disabilities, physical and neurological, which cause pain, fatigue, and some trouble with memory, executive, and cognitive function, and communication.
Outside of the house I typically use a wheelchair although I can get around inside the house.
I am an introvert and prefer direct communication.
Interests include history, meditation, psychology, nature, and travel.
