Special Interest in Myeloid Disorders, PNH and General Haematology
10 PA Fixed-Term Appointment (6 Months)
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Locum Consultant Haematologist with a special interest in Myeloid Disorders, Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria (PNH) and General Haematology. This is a 10 PA fixed-term appointment for 6 months, available as soon as possible.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded and collaborative haematology team within one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting specialist myeloid and PNH services whilst contributing to the delivery of high-quality general haematology care.
Role and Responsibilities
The post-holder will work closely with the established Myeloid Team (Dr Jain, Dr Teh and Dr Khan) and will also have opportunities to support the nationally recognised PNH Service (Dr Kelly, Dr Griffin, Dr Muss and Dr Munir).
The successful candidate will contribute to:

Specialist inpatient and outpatient care for patients with myeloid disorders and/or PNH.

General Haematology services, including outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations.

Participation in the consultant on-call rota (approximately 1:12).

Provision of advisory and liaison haematology services across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Referral triage, advice and guidance services for hospital clinicians and primary care colleagues.

Shared responsibility for benign and general haematology pathways.
There will be opportunities to become involved in:

Regional and local Myeloid Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.

National PNH MDT discussions.

PNH outreach clinics.

Clinical research and trials, with Leeds Haematology actively recruiting to a broad portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies.

Teaching, training and service development initiatives.
The successful applicant should hold accreditation in MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification from the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.
