Novotek has been providing industrial automation and information technology solutions for over 40 years. All our solutions are based on standard products from leading suppliers such as Velotic (formerly GE Vernova), Emerson, AMDT, HighByte and PTC.
Novotek AB was founded in 1986 in Sweden and is a listed company with around 200 employees. We operate in 11 countries within Europe and have a total turnover in excess of 40 MGBP. The activities in the UK and Republic of Ireland are carried out today by a team of circa 50 colleagues across two legal entities, based out of offices in Leeds and Rugeley.
Role
We are looking for a motivated and curious Sales Development Representative to join our expanding sales team as we enter the next phase of our development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in B2B industrial software sales and gain exposure to complex, high‑value enterprise customers.
If you are interested in how industrial operations really work and enjoy engaging with customers to understand their challenges, this role will give you hands‑on experience at the front end of the sales process, supported by experienced sales colleagues and leading technology partners.
You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and developing early‑stage sales opportunities for Novotek’s high‑growth software portfolio. Working closely with both marketing and sales, you will help convert interest into qualified opportunities and contribute directly to pipeline growth.

Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Lead Development
- Promote Novotek’s portfolio of industrial software solutions to prospective customers across a range of industries and job roles
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow‑up and targeted outbound outreach (email, phone and social platforms)
- Maintain a consistent daily cadence of prospecting and follow‑up activity
Qualification & Discovery
- Engage prospects in structured discovery conversations to understand business challenges, operational priorities and technical context
- Qualify and progress leads from Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) to Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) in line with agreed criteria
- Schedule and hand over qualified discovery calls and meetings to the sales team
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work closely with marketing to refine targeting, messaging and the marketing‑to‑sales handoff process
- Collaborate with sales colleagues to nurture early‑stage leads into viable sales opportunities
- Provide feedback from the market to help improve product positioning and sales approaches
Systems & Professional Development
- Maintain accurate records, activity tracking and data hygiene within the company CRM system
- Continuously develop knowledge of Novotek’s solutions, partner technologies and target industries through training and self‑learning
- Represent Novotek professionally and positively in all customer and partner interactions
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 6–12 months, a successful Sales Development Representative at Novotek will:-
- Consistently generate qualified sales opportunities for the sales pipeline
- Achieve agreed MQL‑to‑SQL conversion targets
- Build a strong understanding of Novotek’s solutions, customers and industries
- Become a trusted contributor within the sales and marketing teams

Core Sales Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with both technical and business stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in computer science, engineering, business, economics or a related field, or equivalent qualification or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of B2B subscription software sales experience, ideally with an industrial focus
- Excellent reporting and writing skills using Microsoft Office and other software applications and tools
- Professional experience prospecting, working with social media tools and CRM (ideally with SalesForce)
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
