Working Pattern: Initially office-based for five days a week during training. Post-training, a hybrid work arrangement may be available, contingent on management approval and service needs.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is in search of a seasoned Senior Parking Officer to enhance its Parking Services team. This pivotal role involves leading and executing various senior-level administrative and operational tasks within the Parking Service. The position requires providing supervisory support, managing income-related processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of parking services. The successful candidate will also be responsible for staff management, overseeing parking permit administration, assisting with appeals and adjudication processes, and contributing to service enhancements and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the management and daily operations of the Parking Service.
- Supervise, support, and train both temporary and permanent staff.
- Provide management coverage during absences.
- Process, record, and reconcile income related to:
- Parking Notices
- Off-Street Parking Offences
- Parking Permits
- Parking Passes
- Administer and distribute parking permits, vouchers, and passes.
- Monitor the recovery of parking-related income.
- Ensure adherence to financial procedures and controls.
- Maintain both physical and digital filing systems and records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental procedures and systems.
- Conduct audits and inspections of on and off-street parking facilities.
- Report maintenance issues and service defects.
- Liaise with:
- DVLA
- London Councils
- External Agencies
- Internal Departments
- Generate statistical reports and management information.
- Serve as a primary contact for departmental visitors and inquiries.
- Support adjudication processes and attend Arbitration Service Offices as needed.
- Investigate and respond to correspondence regarding Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).
- Prepare memoranda and reports related to FOI requests, complaints, and casework.
- Handle inquiries via telephone, email, written communication, and in-person.
- Assist in supervising and managing staff within the service.
