Overview
The Lovat Arms is a small traditional Scottish hotel in picturesque Beauly .The Area is close to Inverness with excellent access routes to the surrounding Highlands. We have access to great quality local produce and we would expect the chef to incorporate these ingredients to create quality dishes for our varied clientele.

Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production, inventory management, and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst catering to customer preferences
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency across all dishes
- Manage staff scheduling, training programmes, and performance evaluations to optimise team effectiveness
- Monitor food safety practices diligently, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service delivery and address customer feedback
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment at all times
- Control costs by managing portion sizes, waste reduction, and efficient utilisation of ingredients
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in menu planning, stock control, and quality assurance
- Experience in restaurant operations, including serving processes and customer service excellence
- Ability to innovate creatively while maintaining consistency in flavour and presentation
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff members at all levels

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
