About Retail Insight
At Retail Insight, we're transforming the way some of the world's biggest retailers and CPG brands use data, analytics and technology to make smarter decisions.
Our people are at the heart of what we do. We bring together talented people with different experiences, perspectives and expertise to solve complex problems, challenge the status quo and make a real impact for our clients.
We're growing, and we're looking for a Marketing & Events Executive to join our Commercial team.
About the role
We're looking for a Marketing & Events Executive to help bring Retail Insight's events and marketing activity to life.
Events will be a big part of your world. You'll take ownership of coordinating and delivering our growing calendar of commercial events – from major industry events and conferences through to client roundtables, dinners and other commercial activities.
You'll be involved throughout the event journey, working with venues, suppliers, attendees and teams across the business to make sure everything comes together and is delivered to a high standard.
Alongside events, you'll coordinate a range of marketing activity to promote our events, engage our audiences and make the most of the content and commercial opportunities they create.
It's a varied, hands-on role for someone who loves making things happen, is brilliant at keeping track of the details and is equally comfortable planning behind the scenes as they are getting involved on the day.
What you'll be doing
- Planning, coordinating and delivering Retail Insight's commercial events, including major industry events, conferences, client roundtables and dinners.
- Managing end-to-end event logistics, including venues, suppliers, attendees, run-of-show planning and on-the-day delivery.
- Managing event plans, timelines and key milestones to keep delivery on track and stakeholders informed.
- Working directly with venues, event organisers and suppliers to manage requirements, costs and deliverables.
- Coordinating attendee communications, including invitations, confirmations, joining information and post-event follow-up.
- Coordinating Retail Insight's presence at external industry events, including stands, collateral, promotional materials and team logistics.
- Tracking event budgets and costs, raising purchase orders, processing invoices and flagging any risks or overspend.
- Coordinating marketing campaigns and activities with the Commercial team across relevant channels.
- Managing event promotion across social media, email and other marketing channels to drive awareness and attendance.
- Capturing activity and content from our events and turning it into engaging social, marketing and post-event communications.
- Working with our Sales team on campaign and event follow-up, ensuring leads and relevant information are captured and shared.
- Tracking marketing and event activity to understand performance and identify opportunities to continuously improve.
- Providing administrative support for PR activity, including processing relevant invoices and associated administration..
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in events, marketing or a similar role, with hands-on experience coordinating and delivering events.
- Experience managing event logistics and working with multiple stakeholders, venues and suppliers.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering work to a high standard.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with external suppliers, venues or agencies and confidence managing budgets and deliverables.
- Confidence using digital tools and social media, with an appetite to learn new platforms and systems.
- A proactive, practical approach – you're comfortable taking ownership, solving problems and knowing when to escalate.
- Someone who enjoys collaborating across teams while being confident independently owning their areas of delivery.
Bonus points if you also have
- Experience delivering larger-scale corporate or industry events.
- Experience within B2B marketing.
- Experience working with external PR or agency partners.
- Experience using marketing, CRM, social media or event management platforms.
- An interest in retail, grocery, data, analytics or technology.
Don't tick every box? That's okay. If the role sounds exciting and you think you could bring something to the team, we'd still love to hear from you.
