Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs within a school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with individual pupils, providing tailored assistance to facilitate their learning and development. Duties
- Provide personalised support to pupils with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities
- Support children during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and included
- Aid in behaviour management strategies to promote a safe and supportive learning environment
- Foster effective communication with pupils, adapting approaches to meet their unique needs
- Support with daily routines
- Monitor and record progress, behaviour, and any concerns to inform ongoing support strategies
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff to ensure consistent care and development
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or care settings is desirable
- Experience supporting individuals with SEND is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of special education practices and behaviour management techniques is preferred
- Familiarity with working within inclusive education environments is beneficial
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with children, colleagues, and parents
- Passion for supporting children's development through personalised assistance and patience
