Job Purpose
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Psychologist to join our growing service, delivering high-quality diagnostic assessments and holistic support for children, young people and adults with Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs), including dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as specialist Autism and ADHD assessments.
This role combines assessment, therapeutic support, and programme development, with opportunities to contribute to strategic growth areas, including education tenders and workplace services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Diagnostic Assessments
· Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments for SpLDs, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, alongside Autism and ADHD assessments
· Use recognised Autism assessment tools, including ADOS and ADI-R, as part of robust diagnostic pathways
· Work with individuals of all ages, with a primary focus on children and young adults
· Produce clear, high-quality psychological assessment reports with practical recommendations
· Liaise effectively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary professionals
2. Counselling & EBSA Support
· Deliver psychologically informed counselling and support tailored to neurodivergent individuals
· Design and deliver EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) programmes
· Support young people experiencing anxiety, school avoidance, and associated difficulties
· Work collaboratively with education settings and families to improve outcomes
3. Coaching
· Provide one-to-one coaching for children, young people, and adults
· Support development of executive functioning, emotional regulation, and confidence
· Adapt approaches to meet neurodivergent needs
4. Tenders & Contracts
· Contribute to the development and delivery of tenders (particularly education and psychology-related contracts)
· Support service delivery within commissioned contracts
· Build relationships with schools, local authorities, and partner organisations
5. Service Development (Workplace Offering)
· Support the development of workplace-focused services, including:
· Adult diagnostic assessments
· Occupational Health-linked services
· Workplace coaching and adjustments
· Contribute to designing scalable, commercially viable service models
· Play an active role in expanding services into corporate settings
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
· Doctoral-level qualification in Psychology (Educational, Clinical, Counselling or equivalent)
· Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
· Experience conducting SpLD assessments and Autism/ADHD assessments
· Current APC for SpLD/dyslexia diagnostic assessment, or demonstrable eligibility to renew/obtain APC prior to completing independent SpLD diagnostic reports.
· Training and practical experience in recognised Autism diagnostic tools, including ADOS and ADI-R
· Experience working with children and/or young people
· Strong report writing and communication skills
· Experience delivering psychological interventions (e.g. counselling, coaching, EBSA support)
Desirable Criteria
· Experience assessing across multiple SpLD areas and neurodevelopmental presentations, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and autism
· Experience with EBSA or school-based interventions
· Experience contributing to tenders or commissioned services
· Interest or experience in occupational health or workplace psychology
· Commercial awareness and service development experience

Full-time and part-time hours are available
Flexible Working Arrangements Available on Request (pending approval)
An Enhanced DBS check is required. The cost of this will be covered by the organisation where not on the update service.
