Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity
- Support with medication administration and monitor health conditions in accordance with care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Engage residents in social activities and behavioral management techniques to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring safe transportation and adherence to schedules
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia care, hospice care, and behaviour management
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties
- Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude toward clients.
- Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities and a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
