Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise kitchen staff during service, providing guidance and support to maintain efficient workflow.
- Manage food production processes, including portion control, plating, and presentation standards.
- Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management to minimise waste.
- Train junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
- Support the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and innovation initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment to meet hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrable experience in food safety practices and regulations.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments effectively.
