Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and attentive Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring our guests receive prompt and efficient service by delivering food from the kitchen to the dining area. Duties
- Collect prepared dishes from the kitchen and deliver them accurately to guests’ tables
- Ensure all food orders are presented attractively and in a timely manner
- Assist servers with clearing tables and resetting them for new guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and dining areas
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding special requests or dietary requirements
- Support the team during busy periods by providing prompt assistance as needed
- Uphold food safety standards by handling dishes carefully and ensuring proper hygiene practices are followed
- Respond politely to guest inquiries, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when necessary
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or related roles is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation, meal presentation, and food safety protocols
- Experience as a delivery driver or in courier services is a plus
- Strong communication skills and friendly guest service approach
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Basic cooking or culinary experience is desirable
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, serving techniques, and hotel or barista experience can be beneficial
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Professional phone etiquette and good interpersonal skills
- A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in providing exceptional guest experiences
