We are recruiting on behalf of one of our employer partners in Chesterfield for a motivated and enthusiastic Network Engineer Level 4 Apprentice.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience within a professional IT environment while working towards a nationally recognised Level 4 Network Engineer qualification. You'll develop technical expertise, work alongside experienced IT professionals, and build the skills needed for a successful career in networking and infrastructure.

The Role:
As a Network Engineer Apprentice, you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining the organisation's IT infrastructure. You'll gain exposure to a range of networking technologies and support the delivery of reliable and secure IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Supporting the monitoring and performance of network systems.
- Troubleshooting network, connectivity, and hardware issues.
- Assisting with the implementation of network security measures.
- Supporting user access management and system administration activities.
- Helping maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Recording, tracking, and resolving IT support tickets.
- Assisting with network upgrades, projects, and documentation.
- Working with internal teams and third-party suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Ensuring IT systems comply with security and operational standards.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys technology, and is keen to develop a career in networking and IT infrastructure.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the IT Industry or recently completed an IT apprenticeship at level 3
- Key focus on Customer Service
- Strong knowledge of general IT Hardware such as; PCs, Laptops, Printers & Smart Phones
- Strong knowledge of general networking (DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Switches, Routers and Wireless)
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V & VMWare)
- Experience with Remote Access Tools such as; RMM Platform, LogMeIn or Team Viewer
- Experience with ticketing and documentation systems
- IP Knowledge such as; routing, NAT and Subnets
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange software
- Strong knowledge of server network
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems, Windows XP to Windows Server 2016
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (2007 onwards), Office 365
- Full Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Basic understanding of computer networks, hardware, or operating systems.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing, routers, switches, or Wi-Fi.
Entry Requirements:
- The right to work in the UK
- Lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years
- GCSE English and maths minimum requirement at grade 3 or above (or equivalent)
- A qualification or part qualification or work experience in a related area at a lower or the same level is also required.
