Female Support Worker in Hartlepool £15.21 per hour
We are looking for a compassionate, patient and reliable Support Worker to join a dedicated care team and play an important role in supporting a young lady to live a happy, fulfilling life.
The successful candidate will be able to provide calm, gentle and consistent support, bringing a playful and positive approach when appropriate while always working in a person-centred way. You will be committed to helping her achieve her goals, encouraging her to try new experiences and engage in meaningful activities, whilst recognising her need for high levels of support, reassurance and understanding. An appreciation of the importance of meeting visual and sensory needs is essential, along with an awareness of the challenges involved in supporting a young person with complex needs and the value of seeking advice, guidance and support when required.
We are looking for someone who is emotionally steady, warm and caring in their communication style, with the ability to build a trusting and positive relationship. You will work closely as part of a dedicated team, contributing to consistent, high-quality support and offering encouragement to colleagues as well as receiving it. A commitment to self-care and maintaining awareness of your own wellbeing is also important to ensure safe and sustainable practice.
The young lady enjoys music, social outings and simple pleasures such as going out for hot chocolate and cake, so we welcome applicants who share these interests and can help her access enjoyable experiences that promote choice, independence and quality of life within the guidance of her risk assessment.
Previous experience supporting young people with complex needs, visual impairment or sensory needs would be desired, as would experience of working collaboratively within a care team to deliver consistent, person-centred support.
Above all, we are seeking someone kind, dependable and enthusiastic about making a genuine difference in a young person's life every day.
