Quantity Surveyor (or Assistant) Opportunity
Location: Based in Cardiff Office (project Nationwide)

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding commercial team.
We are a well-established brickwork and masonry subcontractor with an annual turnover of £15-17 million, delivering high-quality projects for some of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors, including Balfour Beatty, Watkin Jones, Kier, Morgan Sindall, Willmott Dixon and other major principal contractors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor (or Assistant) looking to develop their career within a successful and growing business.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the management of multiple brickwork and masonry packages from pre-start through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing valuations and applications for payment.
- Managing subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Cost reporting and forecasting.
- Variations, compensation events and change management.
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
- Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks.
- Liaising with site teams, clients and Tier 1 contractors.
- Assisting with procurement and project cost control.
- Maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients.
- Tendering & Estimating
- Measurement
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a subcontractor (brickwork, masonry or other specialist subcontractors preferred but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive and professional approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
