Job summary:
To summarise, digitise and read-code relevant information from patients medical records onto the clinical system (EMIS), working strictly in accordance with the practice notes summarising protocol. Undertake new patient registrations and deductions, insurance reports, workflow processes and other administrative duties.
Role within the Practice
To work as part of the administration team, supporting the practice with the operational tasks and projects within the business.
Main Duties/Key Tasks:
- Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient’s medical history in accordance with the practice notes summarising protocol.
- Receive patient records and letters in preparation for summarising and digitising
- Summarising and coding hospital letters, information from other professionals, data for current medical treatments/diagnosis and entering accurately on the patient record held on EMIS in a timely manner (read-coding).
- Deal with any queries relating to patient records administration
- Input and extract data as required to support practice reports
- Digitising patient records as required
- Photocopy/scan documentation as required
- Understand and apply the rules of GDPR
- Work as part of a team for covering annual leave and absence
- New patient registrations and deductions (leavers) using automated and web-based systems
- Insurance reports via our electronic communications systems, liaising with clinical and administrative colleagues as required
- Administrate to clinical documents via a process known as “workflow-Betterletter” using integrated practice technical systems
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
