Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse/Production Operative with forklift driving skills (not essential) to join our busy Warehouse and Logistics team at Spaceright Europe Ltd. This role involves producing Dining Furniture for Schools in a production and warehouse environment, operating warehouse equipment, using power tools and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products within the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational abilities, mechanical knowledge and a proactive approach to safety and efficiency.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks safely to load and unload goods, ensuring accurate placement of materials within the warehouse. This is desirable but not essential.
- Assist with shipping and receiving parts and products, including checking deliveries and preparing items for dispatch.
- Utilise warehouse processes and systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately.
- Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper storage and organisation to optimise space utilisation.
- Perform basic product repairs or report faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment and maintain safety standards at all times.
- Assist in stocktaking activities and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular audits.
- Support with general warehouse duties such as loading, unloading, wrapping, labelling, and preparing orders for shipment.
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge when troubleshooting equipment issues or performing minor repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment, with familiarity working with others as part of a team.
- Valid forklift licence with experience operating various types of forklifts safely (desirable, not essential)
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in equipment repair is desirable.
- Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and manual labour when necessary.
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts, measurements and data entry tasks.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures to ensure efficient stock movement.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records and stock levels.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout shifts.
