Little Blossoms Nursery are looking for a highly motivated and reliable person to join our team in the After School and Holiday Club, working from 2-6pm, 3-4 days per week in the Terms, Plus up to 40 hours in the School Holidays.
Childcare and education
- Provide high standards of quality within the club including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
- Comply with the statutory framework for the Early Years, including the EYFS Welfare requirements, and all other relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Assist with planning appropriately for children’s individual needs and interests
- Work in partnership with parents, carers and other family members.
- Demonstrate good practice with regard to Special Needs and Inclusion
- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand Safeguarding procedures, following them where necessary.
Health and safety
- Undertake a shared responsibility for Health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
- Ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times.
- Adhere to all Health and safety and Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Be fully aware of and assist in implementing where necessary, all emergency and security policies and procedures.
- Operate the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness with regard to food service areas.
- To inform the head of department, Deputy or Manager of any concerns noticed regarding childcare, parents, safety of equipment etc.
Operational
- Positively promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.
- Work with the rest of the Management Team during inspections by regulatory bodies to assist in the implementation of any recommendations.
Staff
- To provide a happy, safe, stimulating and caring environment in which children can learn and develop.
- Work as a team with other staff members.
- To encourage team work by good role modeling and leading by example.
- To support the day to day running of the nursery.
- To raise or deal with any actions or situations that you consider to be in breach of nursery policy or practice.
- Be responsible for participating in all self development activities including appraisals, supervision meetings etc.
- To attend staff and team meetings as required
- To assist in monitoring stock levels e.g. food and stationery.
Communication
- Develop and promote parental partnership and involvement.
- To promote and ensure confidentiality is maintained throughout the nursery at all times.
General
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- To undertake any other duties deemed appropriate to the post as directed by the nursery Director and members of the management team.
- To assist with nightly jobs and weekly cleaning as per rota.
Essential for the post;
· Driving license, full and clean- you will be required to drive a minibus (normal licence required) to collect children from school
. Willingness to undertake training and development opportunities.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
· Good communication skills both written and verbal.
· Ability to develop effective relationships and communicate with staff, parents and other professionals.

· To act as an ambassador to the nursery at all times.
· A willingness to undertake further relevant training including some evenings and weekends.
· Ability to assist in promoting a positive working environment.
Desirable for the post;
· Some knowledge of the EYFS curriculum including the Welfare requirements
· Experience of working with children aged 4-11 years.
· Current First Aid qualification.
· Current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
