Overview
We are seeking an organised, reliable, and adaptable Administrator/Bookkeeper to join our team in Leeds. This role is perfect for a multi-talented professional who thrives on variety—balancing essential day-to-day administrative support with core financial bookkeeping duties.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Finance (Approx. 30%)
- Ledger Management: Maintain accurate records on our accounting software (QuickBooks), ensuring sales and purchase ledgers are kept up to date.
- Invoicing & Payments: Issue customer invoices, follow up on outstanding receivables (credit control), and prepare supplier invoices for payment runs.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile daily bank transactions and manage petty cash expenses.
- Payroll & VAT Prep: Assist with basic payroll data entry and help prepare monthly/quarterly VAT returns or documentation for our external accountant.
Office & General Administration (Approx. 70%)
- Work directly with the Managing Director and Engineering Manager to provide support with:
- Health and safety records
- ISO 9001 and 14001 record keeping
- Raising purchase orders
- Raising and maintaining job records
- Help plan engineer calendars
- Answer the telephone
- Liaising with suppliers
- Document Management: Maintain physical and electronic filing systems, draft correspondence, and assist with document preparation.
- Office Operations: Monitor office supplies, manage orders, and ensure general office equipment is properly maintained.
- Team Support: Provide operational and admin support to management and wider team members as needed.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bookkeeping Background: Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance-adjacent role, with solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles, though training will be given where required.
- Accounting Software: Experience using cloud-based accounting platforms (QuickBooks).
- Admin Experience: Strong background in general office administration or customer service.
- Software Literacy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), experience of Google suite would be advantageous.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organisational skills, accuracy with numbers, and strong time-management capabilities.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
