We’re on the lookout for a talented Head Chef to work hand in hand with The General Manager to lead the kitchen at The Druid Inn in Gorsedd, near Holywell.
Following a thoughtful and caring refurbishment of The Druid two years ago, you will find roaring fires, charming furniture, interesting pictures and soft lighting all set around a characterful central bar full of interesting beers, wines and spirits. The kitchen also received a full refurbishment, the space has been completely redesigned and now boasts a full induction kitchen.
Our menu is on the traditional side and predominantly British, with allowance for some flair, using fresh produce with an emphasis on quality.
This position would suit an enthusiastic and motivated chef with proven experience in a busy and successful pub environment. Maybe you're a rising Sous Chef who's keen to lead their own kitchen team? We're looking for a chef who is knowledgable about fresh food operations, who is well organised, a good communicator and loves the buzz of a busy service.
You will be responsible for running the daily food operation, leading a full chef team whilst developing and mentoring junior chefs, completing rotas and adhering to HACCP documentation and processes. You must have strong in cost control and stock management skills.
You will work closely with The Druid Inn’s General Manager, the pubs team, and Group Head Chef to ensure the companies standards are consistently met. You will be expected to collaborate on creating new dishes and develop relationships with suppliers to make sure we’re getting the best ingredients and achieving GP targets.
You will become part of a friendly team that provides the opportunity to further your career in a growing, independent and family-run pub company headed by Jerry Brunning, the original founder of Brunning and Price. In return, you will get:
- A competitive salary based on your experience
- Quarterly bonus/profit share
- Equal share of weekly cash tips
- 48 hr weekly contract worked over 4 or 5 days
- Paid overtime
- Provided with laundered chef whites
- Pension scheme
- 28 days annual holiday
- Holiday purchase scheme
- Free meals on duty
- Pubs Limited food and drink discount scheme
- Internal and external training courses to further your professional development
- Excellent social outings and gatherings
Drivers license essential due to rural location and lack of public transport.
