Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Baby Room Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This role offers flexible hours between 30 to 40 hours per week, providing exceptional care and nurturing support for infants in a safe, stimulating, and loving environment. As a key member of our nursery team, you will play a vital role in fostering developmental growth, ensuring the well-being of each baby, and creating a warm atmosphere that promotes curiosity and learning. Your management and leadership skills will shine as you collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with families to deliver outstanding childcare services.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care tailored to the individual needs of babies, supporting their emotional, physical, and developmental milestones
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote early learning and sensory exploration
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, routines, and any concerns
- Supervise and support junior staff members, fostering teamwork and professional development
- Manage daily routines including feeding, diapering, sleep schedules, and hygiene practices with compassion and professionalism
- Document observations of each child's development to inform future planning and reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting, particularly with infants
- Relevant childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent (or higher)
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise confidently with families and colleagues
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for infant care
- Ability to work flexibly within a 30-40 hour weekly schedule
- Valid driving license is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities (if required)
