Trefurn is a high-end bespoke furniture and cabinetry manufacturer based in Gloucestershire. We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our small office team and take responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of the business.
Working closely with the Managing Director and wider team, you will be responsible for:
· Recording day-to-day financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounts.
· Processing purchase invoices and raising sales invoices.
· Reconciling bank and credit card statements.
· Managing supplier and customer accounts, including assisting with credit control.
· Preparing weekly payroll for a team of approximately 15 employees, including processing timesheets and PAYE.
· Preparing monthly P32 submissions and quarterly VAT returns.
· Maintaining our rolling cashflow forecast.
· Preparing monthly Profit & Loss reports for review with the management team.
· Assisting with year-end accounts and liaising with our external accountant.
· Processing expenses and maintaining accurate financial records.
· Answering the telephone and assisting with general office administration as part of our small office team.
About You
We are looking for someone who is experienced, organised and comfortable working independently, with:
· Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, VAT and payroll compliance.
· Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping role.
· Proficiency with Sage; experience with QuickBooks, Xero or other accounting software would also be considered.
· Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
· Good spreadsheet and general IT skills (Microsoft 365 including Excel and Word)
· Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients and suppliers.
· The ability to manage deadlines and take ownership of your responsibilities.
Experience within a small business, manufacturing or construction environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
This is a hands-on role within a small and friendly team, offering flexibility and genuine responsibility within an established and growing business.
Hours: 1–2 days per week (Mondays & Fridays preferred)

Salary: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour
