About the Role
Golden Tours Transport Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy passenger transport depot. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong operational knowledge of the PSV industry who enjoys leading teams, maintaining high compliance standards, and ensuring the efficient delivery of transport services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operational staff, ensuring compliance with all relevant transport legislation, coordinating fleet availability, and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the depot. This is a full-time role working Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility required to support operational requirements, including occasional extended hours, weekends and public holidays where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the transport depot to ensure services operate safely and efficiently.
- Supervise and support drivers, traffic staff and other operational employees.
- Allocate vehicles and drivers to daily duties while ensuring optimum fleet utilisation.
- Arrange cover for unallocated duties and operational disruptions.
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Drivers' Hours Regulations
- Tachograph Regulations
- PSV Operator Licence requirements
- Health & Safety legislation
- Company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyse digital tachograph data, identifying and addressing compliance issues.
- Manage driver holidays, shift changes, overtime and rest day allocations.
- Liaise closely with the Engineering Department to maximise vehicle availability and ensure defects are repaired promptly.
- Ensure all driver defect reports are recorded and actioned appropriately.
- Maintain vehicle documentation and ensure all compliance deadlines are met.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and customer complaints, maintaining accurate records and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Conduct first-level disciplinary and attendance management in accordance with company procedures.
- Support recruitment, interviewing and onboarding of Drivers, Shunters and Cleaning staff.
- Assist in the production of operational schedules and staff rotas.
- Ensure adequate management cover is maintained throughout the Tuesday to Saturday working week.
- Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of operational performance across the depot.
- Build effective working relationships with internal departments, customers and external regulatory bodies.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Passenger Transport Manager CPC
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Transport Manager role within the passenger transport industry, and nominated on the O-License.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing operational staff within a busy transport environment.
- Good understanding of:
- PSV Operator Licensing
- Drivers' Hours Regulations
- Digital Tachographs
- Working Time Regulations
Desirable
- Current PSV driving licence.
- Experience using transport management software and digital tachograph analysis systems.
- Knowledge of scheduling and rota planning.

Pay: £48,000.00 per year
