We are seeking talented and motivated Cyber Security Consultants, across all grades, with experience working in Defence, to join our team and contribute towards this mission. We are looking for people who intuitively understand our defence clients' needs, consider both immediate and strategic goals, and can apply their experience creatively to meet new and complex challenges.
As our clients develop and deploy increasingly sophisticated technologies, as a Cyber Security Consultant your role will go beyond delivering traditional risk assurance assessments. You will play a key role in helping our clients understand and respond to their increasingly complex threat landscape by shaping secure and resilient solutions for some of the UK's “next generation” defence capabilities. You will combine technical expertise with strategic insight to address the cyber security implications of integrating emerging technologies within evolving operational concepts, ensuring that our client's defence capabilities are resilient, secure-by-design, and capable of operating effectively, enabling the UK to maintain operational advantage in an increasingly contested environment.
Key Responsibilities

Cyber Security Advisory: Provides cyber security advice and assurance across defence programmes, ensuring systems and capabilities are secure, resilient, and aligned with UK Defence and Government security requirements.
- Cyber Strategy Development: Supports the development and roll out of cyber security strategies, architectures, capabilities, and operating models that enable secure-by design principles across next-generation defence programmes, systems and projects.

Risk Management: Undertakes risk and maturity assessments and cyber assurance activities to provide strategic guidance on how to improve cybersecurity posture using a risk-based approach with articulation of mitigations/ controls and their respective impact on reducing risk.

Threat Modelling: Assesses the impact of emerging threats and adversary capabilities on current and future defence systems, providing actionable recommendations to enhance system resilience.
- Next Generation Technologies: Supports the secure adoption of innovative technologies, including PNT solutions, autonomous systems, cloud-based services, and data-centric capabilities.
- Stakeholder Management: Builds strong relationships as a trusted partner, and ‘critical friend' with key client stakeholders, demonstrating an innate understanding of our clients' needs, challenges, and opportunities.
- Communication: Utilises strong written and verbal communication skills to support presentations, reports, and broader communications to a diverse set of audiences including senior stakeholders, including the translation of technical concepts into business language.
- Delivery: Accurately delivers high-quality work to agreed timelines, taking the initiative, utilising the strength of the wider team appropriately to support you, and knowing how to jump straight in.

Skills/Knowledge

Strong background in defence or intelligence, either government or industry.
- Strong understanding of UK Defence, National Security & Government security requirements.
- Strong understanding of security challenges associated with emerging and next-generation defence capabilities.
- Demonstratable knowledge of contemporary cyber threats, state-based adversaries, and the evolving defence threat landscape.
- Understanding of resilience, survivability, and cyber security considerations within contested and degraded operational environments.
- Knowledge and/or experience of best practice cyber security industry frameworks and standards, such as NIST, CAF and ISO27001.
- Knowledge of defence security policies and frameworks such as Defence ones JSP 440 (Defence Manual of Security); JSP 604 (Defence Cyber Security Framework); UK Gov / MoD Secure by Design
- Familiarity with managing supply chain security through MOD DEFSTANS, ISNs and adherence to export controls.
- Industry experience undertaking strategic, cyber security projects.
- Industry experience supporting security assurance activities for complex, high-assurance or mission-critical systems.
- Experience / the ability to work in secure and classified environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Degree or qualification in cybersecurity, IT or a related area, or otherwise demonstrable experience in a related field.
- You demonstrate continued personal development through relevant certifications, academic qualifications, hobbies, and/or wider interests.
Location?
Hybrid, with 2-3 days working from Daintta office (London or Cheltenham) or on client site as required.
