We're looking for a tradesperson to join the Herefordshire team. If you enjoy caring for and maintaining glorious mansions and halls, keeping them an attractive tourist location, this role would be perfect for you.
The role is contracted for 7.5 hours per week, ideally every Friday. Your main base will be at Brockhampton, but you will be covering the maintenance at all Herefordshire locations including Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and The Weir Garden as well.

The Herefordshire Portfolio comprises of Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, Croft Castle & The Weir Gardens, featuring 3 listed historic houses, 3 listed parklands, 9 properties nominated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, 7 scheduled ancient monuments, 1,000ha of agricultural land, 597ha of woodland. What you'll be doing:You will be working to make sure our buildings and landscape is looked after to the highest possible standards by managing a schedule of regular maintenance tasks. In addition, you will also be required to react to any urgent maintenance that arises so you will need to be able to prioritise your workload and be prepared to travel to another property at short notice. You will manage the workshop and ensure tools and your provided vehicle are safe and available to use. You’ll support the team to meet its objectives by ensuring high standards are delivered and maintained at all times.
You maybe fixing a leaky tap in the public toilets, painting a wall in the main hall, power washing the drains, supervising facilities volunteers, supervising contractors on site etc, so this is a very hands-on role where every day is different.

- Who we're looking forSignificant practical experience in the construction industry, supported with appropriate qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
- A competent use of standard machinery
- Familiarity with the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety compliance requirements
