About Managed Partnerships
Managed Partnerships is looking for a reliable, friendly and hands-on Caretaker to look after a well-maintained block of apartments in Reading.
The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining the communal areas and ensuring the building is clean, safe, secure and welcoming for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular inspections of the building and communal areas.
- Keep communal areas, entrances, corridors and external areas vacuumed, clean and tidy.
- Report and monitor maintenance issues, defects and repairs.
- Carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance where appropriate.
- Manage refuse and recycling areas and ensure bins are put out for local authority collections.
- Check lighting, doors, gates and other communal facilities.
- Liaise with contractors and maintenance companies when required.
- Assist with access for contractors and scheduled works.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents.
- Respond professionally to residents' reasonable queries and concerns.
- Keep records of inspections, maintenance issues and completed works.
- Carry out routine tests of the fire alarm and fire systems.
- Report any health and safety concerns promptly.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, trustworthy and well organised.
- Practical and confident carrying out cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
- Friendly and approachable with residents.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Comfortable dealing with contractors and service providers.
- Health and safety conscious.
- Previous caretaking, property maintenance or facilities experience is desirable but not essential.
