Deputy Head Door Supervisors & Security Team Leaders – GASWRX, Digbeth, Birmingham
£15.00–£17.00 per hour depending on role & experience | Weekly Pay | Regular Event Work
Bridgegate Security is recruiting experienced Deputy Head Door Supervisors and Security Team Leaders to join the leadership team at GASWRX, Birmingham's major new event space in the heart of Digbeth.
Opening in September 2026, GASWRX is set to become a significant addition to Birmingham's events and nightlife scene, hosting a varied programme of live music, club nights, entertainment, sporting events and large-scale events throughout the year.
Due to the size and layout of the venue, GASWRX will operate with a substantial security team across multiple areas, each requiring strong and experienced people to lead teams, manage key areas and maintain consistently high operational standards.
We're looking for individuals who are comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions and leading from the front.
The Roles
Depending on your experience and position within the operation, responsibilities will include:
- Leading security teams within designated areas of the venue
- Supporting the senior security management team in delivering the overall event security operation
- Briefing and deploying Door Supervisors before and during events
- Maintaining high standards of professionalism, presentation and customer service
- Supervising entry procedures, searches and crowd management
- Monitoring customer flow and identifying potential issues before they escalate
- Managing incidents confidently and escalating where appropriate
- Maintaining clear radio communication with the control room and wider security operation
- Working closely with venue management and other operational teams
- Ensuring incident reports and relevant documentation are completed accurately
- Supporting the welfare and performance of team members throughout events
What We're Looking For
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence – essential
- Previous supervisory experience within events, nightlife, licensed venues or other high-footfall environments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Confident managing and directing teams
- Calm and decisive when dealing with incidents
- Professional, reliable and well organised
- Good situational awareness and the ability to think ahead
- Comfortable operating within a structured command and communication system
Applications are also welcomed from experienced Head Door Supervisors or senior Door Supervisors who have the ability and ambition to move into larger-scale event operations.
