Loughview Timber is expanding and we are looking for Assembly Operatives to join our team as we launch a new production line dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of FireSec Composite Fire Doors.
Our FireSec doors are high-performance FD30 composite fire doorsets, designed to provide fire resistance, acoustic performance and long-term durability.
We are seeking motivated Fire Door Assembly Operatives (Composite) to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling high-quality fire-resistant doors using composite materials, ensuring safety standards and quality specifications are met consistently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential. Your contributions will directly impact the safety and security of buildings by producing reliable fire door assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Working as part of our new Fire Door team, duties will include:
- Assembly and preparation of composite fire doorsets
- Hanging and fitting doors into prepared frames
- Fitting fire and smoke seals
- Fitting hinges, locks and other specified ironmongery
- Assembling and preparing frames
- Working with GRP-faced composite door components
- Following detailed production drawings and specifications
- Carrying out quality checks throughout the assembly process
- Ensuring finished doorsets meet our required quality and fire-performance standards
- Maintaining a clean and organised production area
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly processes
- Experience with hand tools and power tools used in manufacturing or assembly environments
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with inventory handling and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
