Role Overview
Fonthill Water is seeking a reliable and proactive Production & Engineering Operative to support the day-to-day running of our production facility. This varied role combines engineering support, forklift operation, and hands-on production duties to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the site.
The successful candidate will ideally have an engineering background, with electrical knowledge being advantageous, and be willing to assist across multiple areas of the business when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and efficient operation of production equipment and site machinery.
- Carry out basic engineering and maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting on production equipment.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently for loading and unloading lorries, moving stock, and supporting warehouse operations.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Support the production team during tea breaks, annual leave, sickness absence, or periods of increased demand.
- Lift, move, and stack pallets of 10-litre and 15-litre water bottles as required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the production and warehouse areas.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure production targets and customer requirements are met.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Forklift truck experience and relevant certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Good practical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and physical work safely.
- Strong work ethic with a flexible and team-oriented approach.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices.
- Previous engineering or maintenance experience.
- Electrical knowledge or qualifications.
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, or bottling environment.
