Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and proper storage procedures
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and control costs
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support team management by providing training, guidance, and mentorship to junior kitchen staff
- Collaborate with front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
