GCB Cocoa UK is a Chocolate and Cocoa processor based in Suffolk who are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Facilities Technician to support the ongoing growth of our new chocolate production facility.

You will be working as part of a small Facilities team, so willingness to be flexible to support your colleagues in their work and meet the needs of the business is key.
Essential skills and experiences:
- Basic Engineering understanding to be able to assist Maintenance engineers.
- Honest, reliable and a self-starter. Able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Must be computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office.
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- You have an understanding of pressures from a high-volume manufacturing plant.
- Practical with ability to work on own initiative or within a group with a can-do attitude.
- Able to regularly lift weights of 10-20kg and carry out some physically demanding tasks, working inside and outside of buildings as part of the role.
Desirable:
Forklift & Scissor lift licence would be an advantage.
In this role you will:
Plan, carry out and maintain records of Daily / Weekly /Monthly inspections, including:
- Monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and fire exits.
- Weekly fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency lighting and fire alarm system testing
- Regular Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) testing
- Regular boiler, compressor and chiller checks
- Weekly water pressurisation unit checks.
- Utility meter readings.
Carry out tasks to support the Engineering team, and maintain the facilities on site including:
- Assisting with the management of legionella testing on site.
- General facilities maintenance around the site including changing lightbulbs, basic plumbing, putting up signage and basic painting, etc.
- Managing the waste on site (external to Production)
- Yard maintenance, including car parks, maintaining walkways and emptying of waste facilities (WWTP). Gardening areas not undertaken by external gardeners.
- Stand in for Security on days.
- Assist Maintenance Engineers when required.
Working Pattern: 08.00 - 17.00, Monday - Friday
